| A Message To Members (From Neal Butterworth) |
Dear Trust member. As you may be aware, I have recently been appointed as the Trust representative on the board of the Dorchester Town Football Club. Having a Trust representative on the Club board is an excellent opportunity for the Trust, and for the Club, as working together we can only make both stronger. It is also a clear reflection of the commitment by Shaun Hearn, and the other Club directors, to involve the Trust and the wider community in the future of the Club, for which the Trust is very grateful. All our members now have the opportunity to have their voice heard at board level in the Football Club. The way to achieve this will be for you to e-mail any comments or suggestions that you would like raised at Club board meetings to info[at]magpiestrust.co.uk. I will then raise these issues at the next board meeting. You will appreciate that it will not always be possible to have responses to individual comments, but at least you will have the assurance that your comments will be heard by the board. I will, of course, provide responses to comments where possible following the board meetings.

| Christmas Greetings |
The Dorchester Town Supporters Trust would like to take this opportunity to wish all our members and fans of Dorchester Town FC a very happy Christmas and a prosperous 2010.
It’s been just over a year since we were officially formed and just over six months since our launch and we think it is fair to say together we have made huge strides forward. We have already achieved two of our major long-term objectives in gaining a shareholding in the club and having a seat on the football clubs board of directors. At other Trust’s around that UK, the latter has taken years to achieve, so to do so within 6 months highlights how well we have progressed together. Special thanks must go to the clubs directors for voting to allow this to happen. I’m sure you will agree that since returning to the club Shaun Hearn is bringing the club back into the community and getting the club back to its traditional values that we are all rightly proud of. With the Christmas holiday season literally upon us and the eagerly awaited derby matches with our closest rivals set to resume once again, we would like to reiterate on the club Chairman’s recent message concerning the return of this fixture. There will be no policing costs provided that the police do not need to deploy during the game. In the interests of health and safety, we urge all fans not to run onto the pitch or engage in any violent confrontation but do what we do best, that is to encourage our team on to victory and out sing our visitors. Failure to head this advice or that of the stewards will result in a significant cost to the club which, as everybody is well aware, can ill afford. Here’s to a sustainable future for Dorchester Town football club. Together we will make a difference. Thank you for your support, it’s very much appreciated. Enjoy your Christmas.

| Hamptons Supporters Trust Visit Before Match |
|
Before December's match against Hampton and Richmond Borough, the Beavers Supporters Trust joined the Dorchester Town Supporters Trust board and a few members as special guests for sausage chips and a pint at Tom Browns Pub (a Corporate Member!).
The discussion ranged from the plight of a number of nonleague clubs, to sharing ideas and experiences to help each other develop further. We will hopefully be doing the same in the return fixture, so stick Tuesday 9th March in your diary. We would like to take this opportunity to give special thanks to Jamie Pinnow the landlord of Tom Browns for supplying the fantastic fare free of charge to the Trust.

| Dorchester Town FC’s new mascot |
|
Dorchester Town’s new mascot walked around the Christmas Cracker on Wednesday 2nd December in search of a name.
This 6 foot tall bear was found at Dorchester West Station, sitting on a suitcase with a note attached to his Dorchester Town replica shirt saying “Please look after this bear, thank you.”
It is believed that the bear, who at present has no name, came all the way to the county town from darkest Pulham. He has been taken in by the Dorchester Town Supporters Trust, who will be with him at Wednesday’s event, as he goes in search of suggestions for a new name. The winning suggestion will get a complimentary ticket for the family to the Dorset Derby match against Weymouth on Boxing Day and will introduce the mascot to the Magpies Faithful on the pitch at half time. The bear will also be in Dorchester town centre on Saturday morning, giving out free childrens tickets to the afternoon’s game against Hampton and Richmond Borough FC. (Kick off 3pm)

| Ladies team on look out for new players |
|
Dorchester Town Ladies FC are on the look out for new players this Christmas
The Magpies Ladies team who came third in the Dorset ladies league last year train at the TA Centre on Wednesday evenings from 6.45pm and are on the look out for a handful of new players. Team Captain Becky Narramore says: “New players don’t need to have experience of playing football, just the enthusiasm to learn. We have one player who joined recently having never played before and she’s doing really well. “Football is a fantastic way of keeping fit and training sessions are great fun with lots of laughs. We have a fantastic social side to the club too and any new players that join us would be made to feel welcome. “I really enjoy playing football with the girls; it’s good fun every week. Joining the team is great for making new friends and a fun way of keeping fit and in shape.” Dave Ring, Secretary for Dorchester Town Supporters Trust, who are helping promote the ladies team urged local girls to get involved: “Ladies football is really beginning to take off here in the UK, with the English team reaching the Euro finals, and Arsenal Ladies becoming one of Europe’s leading teams. Football is one of the best ways possible of keeping fit and a lot more fun than plodding along on a treadmill. The ladies team have a great social aspect to the team as well, and I would urge anyone out there thinking about it to pop along to the TA Centre one Wednesday evening and give it a try.” The Ladies play every Sunday afternoon followed by a free meal at the George. Anyone interested should contact Manager Tim Carter on 07864 682 538 or email dorchladies_fc@hotmail.co.uk

| Trust On The Club Board |
Following talks with Shaun Hearn (Chairman of Dorchester Town FC) over the last month, Dorchester Town Supporters Trust are delighted to announce that, as of last night (Wednesday 25th November), a Trust representative has been co-opted on to the Dorchester Town Football Club board of directors. The Trust board has nominated the Trust’s Treasurer Neal Butterworth to take up the position in the interim, but inline with our democratic principles, this position in the future will be subject to elections, as are seats on the Trust’s board. This marks the second major milestone the Trust has achieved since our launch in the summer, having already acquired one thousand pounds worth of shares in the Football Club, courtesy of Eddie Belt and I’m confident that I can speak on behalf of all the Trust’s board members when I say it shows quite how far we have come in such a short amount of time. It has taken other Trust’s years to be in this position, so to achieve it within 6 months of our launch is testament to our progress, of which we couldn’t have achieved without the membership.

| Supporters Challenge Success |
The Dorchester Town Supporters Trust would like to thank all those who attended the very successful Darts, Skittles and Pool fundraising Night on Saturday Evening 14th November against the Green and White Supporters Club (GWSC).The evening was a great success being supported by around one hundred people.
Special thanks must go to Mr & Mrs Harris (Andy Harris mum and dad) from Folke Golf Centre near Sherborne and Brad and Della from Bristol who kindly sponsored the night and also to Trust member Andrew Childs for organising the event.
A special mention also to the Colliton Club for hosting the evening free of charge having waived the normal hiring fee and also for providing superb service when serving food for such a number of people and we all thank them kindly for that.
Last and by no means least, our thanks must go out to the 40 plus travelling Yeovil Town FC Supporters Club members (GWSC) without whom the event would not have been possible. In the end, the evening raised around £350 for the Trust.
I’m sure all who attended will agree that it was a fantastic evening and fun was had by all. We hope to organise further events in the near future and will fit in with our remit to organise fundraising events that are community orientated.
Thank you all for your support, it is very much appreciated.
